Death toll in Gaza Strip rises to 1,354: Healthcare sector on the brink of collapse

The Palestinian Ministry of Health has announced the current number of Palestinians who have lost their lives in Israel's attacks on Gaza.

The statement noted that 1,354 people have lost their lives and 6,049 people have been injured in the attacks Israel has carried out on Gaza since October 7.

Ashraf al-Qudra, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health in Gaza, also made a statement on the Ministry's social media account. Qudra stated, "Hospitals are operating at full capacity. Due to the increase in Israeli attacks and the resulting density, the wounded and sick are lying on the floor. Our healthcare sector is on the brink of collapse."

Spokesperson Qudra further emphasized that Israel's ongoing electricity, water, and fuel cuts threaten the lives of the wounded and sick, and are "causing a horrific health and environmental catastrophe."

''ISRAEL HAS KILLED 326 CHILDREN IN THE GAZA STRIP''

Ayed Abu Eqtaish, a Palestine official for the Geneva-based Defense for Children International, said in a statement to the official Palestinian news agency WAFA, "According to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, 326 children were killed in the Gaza Strip as of Wednesday, October 11."

Pointing out that 6 children were also killed in the occupied West Bank during this period, Abu Eqtaish drew attention to the high proportion of women and children among those killed in Israel's attacks on Gaza.

NUMBER OF DISPLACED PERSONS IN GAZA EXCEEDS 338 THOUSAND

In a written statement from the United Nations (UN) Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), it was noted that more than 338 thousand Palestinians have been forced to leave their homes since the start of the Israel-Palestine conflict.
