Decision on "power outage" measures for elections published in the Official Gazette

A circular regarding the taking of measures for local elections to provide for the needs of district election boards, such as space, vehicle allocation, computers, printers and toner, generators, and the supply of labor capable of using these, has been published in the Official Gazette.

The "Presidential Circular No. 2024/1 on Local Administration General Elections," signed by President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has been published in the Official Gazette.

The circular recalled that, in accordance with Article 127 of the Constitution and Article 8 of Law No. 2972 on Local Administration and Neighborhood Headman and Council of Elders Elections, the Local Administration General Elections will be held on Sunday, March 31.

"ALL NECESSARY MEASURES WILL BE TAKEN"

The circular included the following statements:

"In order to successfully conduct the Local Administration General Elections to be held on Sunday, March 31, 2024, and to ensure that the national will is reflected in the ballot box in a healthy manner, all public institutions and organizations, including primarily civil administrators, managers of public banks, and heads of security forces, will take all necessary measures to ensure that the needs of district election boards—specifically space, vehicle allocation, computers, printers and toner, uninterruptible power supplies, and generators, as well as the supply of qualified labor capable of using these—are met without any disruption, and maximum effort and sensitivity will be shown in this regard."
