Three of the 6 suspects detained in connection with the discovery of a burned male body in a wooded area in Zonguldak have been arrested.
SUSPECT'S RELATIVES SAID 'DON'T BE AFRAID, BE AT EASE'
The procedures at the gendarmerie for the 6 suspects, including H.K. and E.G., who are stated to be the owners of the unlicensed mine where the body of Afghan national Vezir Mohammad Nourtani was found in a wooded area by the roadside in Kırat Neighborhood on November 10, have been completed. The suspects were brought to the courthouse after undergoing health checks. During the suspects' arrival at the courthouse, one of their relatives was heard saying, "Don't be afraid, be at ease."
FORENSIC MEDICINE REPORT WILL DETERMINE WHEN HE WAS BURNED
It is alleged that Nourtani, who was claimed to be working at the mine in question, fell ill and became unresponsive during work, and was then taken to the forest by vehicle and burned after being doused with gasoline. Meanwhile, it was learned that within the scope of the investigation, it was determined from camera footage that the suspects purchased gasoline in a canister from a gas station in the Gelik town, and the exact time Nourtani's body was burned will be clarified according to the results of the report to come from the Council of Forensic Medicine.
On the other hand, it was determined that the unlicensed mine, which was closed after the incident, was detected by gendarmerie teams on November 6 and rendered unusable with explosives by Turkish Hard Coal Enterprises officials, but was later reactivated by the suspects by opening a new entrance. Following their interrogation by the prosecutor's office, suspects A.A. (51), E.G. (33), and H.K. (45) were arrested, while E.D. (21), A.Ç. (45), and S.K. (27) were released under judicial control conditions and a travel ban.
WHAT HAPPENED?
It was determined that the body found burned in a wooded area by the roadside on Koca Osman Street in Kırat Neighborhood on November 10 belonged to 50-year-old Afghan national Vezir Mohammad Nourtani, a father of three, who was understood to have died two days earlier. Within the scope of the investigation, 6 suspects, including the owners of the unlicensed mine, were detained. It was alleged that Nourtani died during a work accident at the unlicensed mine and his body was transported to the wooded area where it was found.
