DEM Party candidate Meral Danış Beştaş will not be able to vote in Istanbul
Hours before the elections, it was announced that DEM Party Istanbul Mayoral Candidate Meral Danış Beştaş will not be able to cast her vote in Istanbul.
In a statement regarding the matter, the DEM Party Istanbul Press Commission stated, "As is known, those who were to change their residence for the local elections to be held on March 31, 2024, were legally required to complete their address change by October 1.
Since the candidate nomination process and Meral Danış Beştaş's candidacy were determined after this date, she will not be able to vote in Istanbul.
SHE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO VOTE IN DIYARBAKIR EITHER
Our IMM Co-Mayoral candidate Meral Danış Beştaş will not be able to cast her vote in Istanbul due to election security, nor will she be able to cast her vote in Diyarbakır, where her residence is registered," the statement read.
