DEM Party takes action for second İmralı visit

Following the call from MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, DEM Party members Sırrı Süreyya Önder and Pervin Buldan went to İmralı on December 28 and met with Abdullah Öcalan, the leader of the terrorist organization PKK.

Following the meeting, which was considered the first concrete step of the new process, former Mardin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Türk, who was replaced by a government-appointed trustee, was added to the DEM Party İmralı Delegation consisting of Önder and Buldan. The 3-person delegation visited political parties in the Turkish Grand National Assembly and held talks.

Having most recently visited Selahattin Demirtaş, Selçuk Mızraklı, and Figen Yüksekdağ, the DEM Party İmralı Delegation will apply to the Ministry of Justice today to meet with Öcalan for a second time.

Ahmet Türk is also expected to join the delegation for the second İmralı visit.

In a statement made by the DEM Party on Friday regarding the new process, it was stated that the talks were "promising."
