DEM Party's Oluç calls 'Kobani Case' sentences a 'liquidation trial'

Describing the court's rulings as 'this was a revenge trial,' Oluç stated that in the second phase of this process, the closure of the party could be brought to the agenda.

Claiming that the court panel did not even read the indictment and evaluating the decisions made, DEM Party Antalya MP Saruhan Oluç stated, "A step of political liquidation has been carried out. As a second step, the process for the closure of the party will be set in motion. When we say revenge, we want to emphasize this in particular: there is a law of the superior!"

Saruhan Oluç, who was a guest on the program 'Sinem Fıstıkoğlu ile Perdenin Önü Arkası' broadcast on Halktv, made the following statements regarding the court rulings:

"It is a good thing that our friends who were acquitted were acquitted, but all of our friends should have been acquitted; there is no crime here!

Today, our friends, primarily Selahattin Demirtaş, were acquitted of the most serious charge, which was the accusation related to the murder of Yasin Börü. We are not in favor of anyone dying or being killed.

Such an accusation had been leveled against us, but in my opinion, the court made the right decision, and our friends were acquitted of the Yasin Börü charge. The court stated that such an accusation was not correct.

Those who handed down this sentence effectively said, 'if you insist on democratic politics, we will give you even harsher sentences'. After the sentences given, I can say on behalf of the entire party that we will never give up our struggle in this regard.

Those who try to bring us to our knees by making us pay such prices will see once again that this will not happen.

After these decisions, Selahattin Demirtaş said, 'do not be sad and do not lose heart'. They stated that we will not give up our democratic struggle."

THE IMPACT OF THE SENTENCES

Regarding the prison sentences handed down, Oluç said:

"The efforts made for social peace are being damaged, the dream of living together under equal conditions is being damaged; these things sadden us.

If you stand behind these decisions, it means you do not want to create a democratic and libertarian constitution. If the lawyers on the government side interpret the sentences as positive and good, if they look at the situation this way, their rhetoric that 'we will make a libertarian and democratic constitution' does not sound sincere. We will not sit at the table for a constitution in this environment.

You reap what you sow. What they have sown is not a good thing in terms of social peace. They did not do a good job in terms of normalizing relations; they did not sow good seeds.

They reminded us of the old military court eras."
