Demonstration marches and outdoor meetings banned for 4 days in Van

In the statement made by the Governor's Office, it was stated that the plan is to prevent actions and attacks that are considered to directly and clearly create the conditions for limitation and prohibition stipulated in the constitution and laws.

The statement, which reported that the aim is to ensure the safety of life and property of the public, to thwart the plans of terrorist organizations, to protect national security, fundamental rights and freedoms, to ensure the continuation of general public order, and to prevent acts of violence, noted the following:

"Within the geographical boundaries of Van province, excluding events deemed appropriate by the governor's and district governor's offices, demonstration marches and outdoor meetings to be organized according to the provisions of the 'Law on Meetings and Demonstration Marches' No. 2911 for a period of 4 days, effective from November 25 up to and including November 28, are prohibited based on the relevant provisions of the same law; press statements, sit-in protests, conducting surveys, setting up tents and stands, organizing signature campaigns, and distributing leaflets, brochures, and flyers are prohibited between the specified dates in accordance with the provisions of paragraphs (a) and (c) of Article 11 of the 'Provincial Administration Law' No. 5442."
