Dentist shot in the head in İzmir loses his life

The incident occurred on Friday, February 21, at approximately 16:20 in an apartment located on Ali Çetinkaya Boulevard in Alsancak. According to the information obtained, M.E. (35) arrived at the home of dentist Mustafa Emrah Düşmez (49). During the incident, where an argument over a debt issue turned into a fight, M.E. shot Düşmez in the head with a handgun. While the unfortunate man lay in a pool of blood, the attacker took Düşmez's phone, recorded a video of the critically wounded dentist, and sent it to his mother.

He then fled the scene. The woman, who experienced the shock of her life upon seeing the video of her son covered in blood, reported the situation to the police. Upon the arrival of medical teams at the scene, the critically wounded Mustafa Emrah Düşmez was taken by ambulance to Tepecik Training and Research Hospital. Despite all interventions by doctors, Düşmez lost his life on the 3rd day of his struggle for survival.

ARRESTED

An investigation was launched by the Public Security Branch Directorate's Murder Bureau, the Crime Analysis Center (SAM) Bureau, and the Intelligence Branch Directorate teams to capture the suspect who fled the scene.

Police teams, having determined that the suspect was in the Basmane district, captured the fugitive suspect at the address where he was hiding, along with the handgun used in the crime, during an operation. The detained suspect was referred to the police station for processing.

M.E., whose procedures at the police station were completed, was arrested by the court he was brought before and sent to prison.

"BIOLOGICAL FATHER OF MY 2 CHILDREN"

The statement of M.E., who was detained regarding the incident, has emerged. Allegedly, M.E. claimed that dentist Düşmez had defrauded him in a joint business venture 10 years ago, and that there was hostility between them due to a debt issue.

On the other hand, it is alleged that M.E., having learned that his wife had an affair with dentist Düşmez, divorced his wife 2 years ago. Later, the father, who had a DNA test performed on his 2 children from his ex-wife due to suspicion, claimed that the test results showed Düşmez was the biological father of the children. Upon this, M.E., who shot dentist Düşmez in his home, said, "I shot him, and not being able to satisfy my anger, I recorded a video with his phone and sent it to his mother."
