Details of the lecture notes sold by Akın Gürlek revealed: 'The person who wrote those notes became a prosecutor'

The revelation that Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor Akın Gürlek, who was appointed as Minister of Justice in recent months, sold lecture notes to make a living during his university years has drawn significant attention. In a YouTube program he attended, Gürlek stated that he sold his lecture notes during his university years and became a well-known person through this method. GÜRLEK'S "NOTE-SELLING" STORY

Akın Gürlek, who is on the agenda regarding asset claims involving CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, spoke about his source of income during his university years when he appeared on a program hosted by Adem Metan, a YouTube content creator close to the government. Gürlek explained that while he was at Marmara University Faculty of Law, he took notes from the professors whose classes he attended, and over time, he professionalized this work and became a well-known person at the school.

Gürlek said, "I was constantly attending every class. We would write down whatever came out of the professor's mouth. Eventually, they recognize you in the lecture hall, they trust you, saying 'Akın is taking lecture notes' and so on... We professionalized this business; we bought a voice recorder in our third year. We both reached a very good financial situation and were achieving success," he said.

CLASSMATE CONFIRMS AND SHARES DETAILS

The claims regarding the notes Akın Gürlek sold during his university years were confirmed by a classmate who studied during the same period as Gürlek and is now a professor. The professor stated that Gürlek first sold the notes he wrote by hand at a stationery store named "Durak Copy" in Selimiye. He relayed that over time, Gürlek made this work more professional by transferring it to a computer, and sold the notes he typed on the computer at another stationery store in Rasimpaşa.

The professor emphasized that Gürlek made a difference among students in this way and described how popular Gürlek's notes were as follows: "The operator of Durak Copy used to advertise Gürlek's notes by saying, 'The person who wrote those notes became a prosecutor'."

Gürlek's classmate also recalled another student who sold notes during the same period. He stated that a student named Ali earned a lot of money in a short time and was later appointed as a district governor.
