Detention warrant issued for Ece Güner in Ahbap investigation

As part of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the AHBAP Association, the association's president, artist Haluk Levent, has been detained. 

Within the scope of the investigation, police teams carried out a raid on the headquarters of the Ahbap Association.

It was learned that Haluk Levent is being investigated for "violation of the Law on Associations," "laundering of assets derived from crime," and "membership in an organization."

There has been a new development in the investigation. According to journalist Seyhan Avşar, it has been reported that a detention warrant has been issued for lawyer Ece Güner.

Güner wrote the following in a statement on her social media account: 

"1- I have never been the lawyer for the Ahbap Association or Haluk Levent; I have never received any attorney fees, etc. 

2- For years, like tens of thousands of citizens, I have made dozens of donations to Ahbap. I have had people undergo surgeries, and I made one of the largest donations during the earthquake! This is in the records; it was even announced at the time. 

I have always (thank God) been a charitable person. Everyone around me knows this. 

3- Other than that, after I made a large donation for the earthquake: 

Haluk Levent, perhaps seeing that I had made large donations, approached me and asked for a temporary personal loan. He said he was in a very difficult situation. He said it was a vital matter and that he would pay it back within 1 month. 

'I am the most trusted person in Turkey; people entrust their millions to me; I will pay it back immediately,' he said. 

Then, unfortunately, after struggling for about 1 year, I was barely able to get back the loan I had given. 

[Donations are separate, loans are separate; of course, I only took back the loan I gave. My donations were made to Ahbap and, of course, I did not take them back]. 

Everyone who knows me is a witness; I am perhaps an overly charitable person. I help many associations and people.. 

I do not know if Haluk Levent is guilty or innocent: But I know this: I struggled a lot to get back the loan I gave, and after that incident, I never again made a donation to either Haluk Levent or Ahbap.

For 1 year, while I was struggling to get back the loan I gave, both I and my family were extremely upset."
