Detentions continue in the Ayhan Bora Kaplan investigation!

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that, within the scope of the Ayhan Bora Kaplan investigation, Deputy Ankara Police Chief Murat Çelik, Organized Crime Branch Manager Kerem Öner, his deputy Şevket Demircan, and one police officer have been taken into custody.

The investigation was launched following statements made by secret witness Serdar Sertçelik in the Ayhan Bora Kaplan case. Following the summoning for testimony of the police officers who were suspended and whose homes were searched as part of the investigation, a statement was issued by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

In the statement made by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated, "A detention order has been issued by our Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding four public officials serving in the Ankara Police Department Organized Crime Branch Directorate concerning the allegations mentioned in the testimony of secret witness S.S., and the detention order has been executed; the investigation proceedings are being carried out meticulously."

WHAT HAPPENED?

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Smuggling and Organized Crime Investigation Bureau had launched an investigation into the audio videos and voice recordings reflected in the media of fugitive defendant Serdar Sertçelik, who is facing a life sentence in the case regarding the armed criminal organization known publicly as the Ayhan Bora Kaplan criminal organization.

In the ongoing investigation regarding the 3 suspended police officers, for crimes including "committing crimes against the constitutional order," "conspiracy to commit a crime," "disclosure of secrets related to duty," "attempting to influence a judicial officer, expert witness, or witness," and "aiding and abetting a criminal," searches were conducted on May 13 at the residences of the suspects to seize digital materials.

Additionally, a restriction order has been issued regarding the investigation.
