Devlet Bahçeli: İmamoğlu has made absurd remarks about the judiciary, politics, and every person and institution that comes to his mind

The statement made by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli is as follows:

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu held a press conference today featuring actors from every field and segment.

In the aforementioned meeting, in addition to speaking from a high horse, he posed as an expert on the country and made absurd remarks about the judiciary, politics, and every person and institution that came to his mind, including our President.

By ignoring the responsibilities he carries as the Mayor of Istanbul, he has wasted time with unfortunate and baseless assessments regarding topics that are not his duty and fall outside his scope of duty and authority.

The classic and familiar picture of İmamoğlu has unfortunately cast a shadow over the agenda once again.

Setting aside his reliance on the minds of others instead of his own, he has failed to admit that he has not been able to properly perform his duties as the mayor of Istanbul, and he has once again failed to show the courage to explain why he abandoned Istanbul during painful and difficult times.

It is known to everyone, and especially to our citizens living in Istanbul, that İmamoğlu, who uses his right to vacation during times of disaster, recognizes no threshold or limit in violating political morality and ethics.

There is no doubt that the escape from responsibility of this person, who has stolen years from Istanbul, and his attempt to link reasonable and legitimate criticisms to a so-called legal and systemic problem, can never be seen as correct or innocent.

I especially remind you that the Republic of Turkey is a state of law.

Furthermore, there is no issue with either the regime or the system.

Hiding behind democracy and democratic rights, which have been stripped of their true context, and attempting to question the Presidential Government System, which entered our administrative life with the pure will and preference of our nation, and our President, who was elected as the head of the nation with 52 percent of the vote, is nothing more than a caught-in-the-act state of potential indigestion and an anti-democratic political mentality.

It is clear that İmamoğlu is in both a political and legal bottleneck, and this is the reason for his panic.

However, the independent and impartial judiciary is in pursuit of İmamoğlu and his opportunistic comrades who have nested around him, wherever they may be, and it will not bow to the lies and manipulations of those who are hostile to the MHP and the People's Alliance.

If there is a crime, the price will certainly be paid before the law.

Otherwise, there is no need for concern anyway.

Following today's press conference, how his rivals within the party will interpret and what they will say about İmamoğlu, who has donned the guise of a presidential candidate, is a mystery that will be clarified in the coming days.

I wonder what the political foot soldiers of the CHP and the well-known unprincipled names chasing candidacy will say about İmamoğlu's statements that can be pulled in every direction?

Even though İmamoğlu criticizes doing politics out of concern for his future, the main idea of the meeting he held is nothing but concern for his future.

The Constitution and laws are applied fairly to everyone.

Even if elected, no one has the freedom to commit crimes.

Fear is of no use against destiny.

If Ekrem İmamoğlu sees in himself the strength to lift Turkey up and finds a self-confident presidential candidacy or leadership profile worthy of himself, it will come to mind as a requirement of political and moral consistency that the following points should also be thought about and taken into consideration:

He could get rid of all his burdens and turn into an ordinary citizen.

My advice to this person is that if he believes he has supporters from politics, the judiciary, and every segment of society who can lift the country up, he should choose to be an ordinary citizen, face the consequences, and come out into the open.

At the same time, this comfort and ease he will reach will allow him to get rid of the chaos around him and the chaotic structure of politics, and to appear before both justice and the nation as a simple and ordinary citizen.

If İmamoğlu trusts himself, he can become a presidential candidate with the signatures of one hundred thousand people.

As a son of Trabzon, he will be able to take official action to gain the opportunity to serve our nation and our country.

In the face of this situation, the status of the friends he walks with today, how many people will remain around him, and who will be by his side when the municipality's rent faucet is turned off will also become clear.

It is a fact known to everyone that there are important names who have come to the fore with their scientific studies and who have appeared on TV defending the CHP, who are understood to be entering the race for the CHP's presidential candidacy.

From the moment he takes off the armor of the Metropolitan Mayor, it is possible and probable that he will have the opportunity to compete on equal terms with those whose names rise and fall in the political stock market, and to pioneer a fair race in his own words.

In short, it is necessary to ask Ekrem İmamoğlu; it is clear that in the statements you have made recently and the messages you have given, you are seeking to display a leadership that will embrace all segments of society.

If you are truly talking about a lack of trust in politics and the judiciary, are you considering resigning from your mayoral position to leave behind the resources of the municipality and starting a race as an ordinary citizen on equal terms with all your rivals, and are you planning to demonstrate the requirement of your promise to "lift Turkey up" with such a courageous decision?

Do you believe that such a step would set an example in terms of political ethics, create a fair competitive environment, and be a historic opportunity to transform Turkey's political culture?
