Did Turkey know about HTS's attacks? Here is the background of the offensive...
It has been claimed that Hayat Tahrir al-Sham warned Turkey about its attack plans in Syria 6 months ago. Turkish officials, however, stated that HTS does not take orders from Turkey and does not coordinate its operations with them.
It has been claimed that Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) warned Turkey 6 months before its attacks in Syria.
According to information reached by Reuters, the jihadist group informed Turkey about the details of the attacks, conveying a message that said, "You don't need to do anything, just don't intervene." However, a Turkish official denied the claims, stating that HTS does not take orders from Turkey and does not coordinate its operations with them.
'THE BACKGROUND OF THE OFFENSIVE...'
It was stated that the jihadist attacks that began in Syria on November 27 resulted in the fall of Damascus on December 8. According to the report, the background of the offensive lies in the operation launched by HTS from the Idlib province on the Turkish border.

However, it is alleged that the jihadist groups informed Turkey before taking action. A diplomat stated that HTS leader Abu Mohammad al-Julani developed the attack plan.
While Turkey's ministries of foreign affairs and defense did not provide a direct response to the matter, it was claimed that an unnamed Turkish official used the words, "HTS does not take orders or instructions from us. They do not coordinate their operations with us."
