DISK continues its march to Ankara with a call for 'Justice in Income, Justice in Taxation'

The Confederation of Progressive Trade Unions of Turkey (DISK) is continuing its Ankara March. On the third day of the march, the delegation that set off from Kocaeli to Yalova is marching with the demand for "Justice in Income, Justice in Taxation."

According to the report by Dilan Esen from BirGün, DISK Vice President and General President of the Rubber Workers' Union (Lastik-İş) Alaattin Sarı, speaking at the statement held at the Human Rights Park in Kocaeli, said, "Our march will continue within the framework of justice in taxation and income," and continued as follows:

"Purchasing power is declining due to the drop in existing purchasing power caused by tax brackets. There is a need for a new tax system where those who earn more pay more, and those who earn less pay less. This march we are conducting to eliminate all injustice is an important one. This is an industrial and labor region. The support labor has given to this march has made us very happy. Our march has made an impact in Turkey. Our main issue is a matter of the country. This is the issue of the tradesman, the civil servant, and the farmer who make a living through their labor. We are not just marching for the gains of DISK members, but for the rights of everyone."
