Diyanet President Ali Erbaş freezes at Arabic question, asks for translation

Diyanet Affairs President Ali Erbaş, whose official biography on the websites of the Presidency of Religious Affairs and the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation states that he "has a good command of Arabic and French," failed to understand a question posed to him in Arabic and requested a Turkish translation.

Diyanet Affairs President Ali Erbaş, who was in Baghdad as part of AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan’s visit to Iraq, did not understand a question from a Rudaw reporter regarding the "services of Saladin Ayyubi and Sheikh Abdul Qadir Gilani to Islam" in Arabic and had it translated into Turkish.

Erbaş responded to the question, which he had translated into Turkish, by saying, "They are all very important to us, and we always remember the services they have rendered with gratitude."

ASKED FOR TRANSLATION FOR ARABIC QUESTION

Erbaş visited the Abdul Qadir Gilani Complex and the Imam-i Azam Complex in Baghdad, which were restored by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).

Responding to questions from members of the press there, Ali Erbaş did not understand a question asked in Arabic and requested a Turkish translation. Erbaş also gave his answer to the question in Turkish.
