Diyanet responds to VIP Hajj allegations! 'Reports are baseless'

The Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) has announced that reports claiming Seher Erbaş, the wife of President Ali Erbaş, went on the Hajj using a VIP quota do not reflect the truth. In its statement, the Presidency reported that Erbaş and his wife were invited by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

The statement included the following remarks:

"Following reports in some media outlets claiming that Seher Erbaş, the wife of the President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş, went on the Hajj using a VIP quota, it has become necessary to make the following statement. The report that our President of Religious Affairs' wife, Seher Erbaş, went on the Hajj using a VIP quota is completely false. Our President and his wife were invited by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah without using our pilgrims' quota, and they went on the Hajj with a special Hajj visa sent by the Ministry."
