DMM issues statement on 'Trump gave instructions to Turkey' claim

The Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM), operating under the Presidency's Directorate of Communications, has announced that claims shared by various social media accounts—such as "Trump gave Turkey instructions to attack Iran," "Turkey is part of a secret military plan against Iran," and "Turkey demanded the lifting of CAATSA sanctions to join a war against Iran"—are baseless.

The statement issued by the DMM included the following:

"Claims appearing in some social media accounts, such as 'Trump gave Turkey instructions to attack Iran,' 'Turkey is part of a secret military plan against Iran,' and 'Turkey demanded the lifting of CAATSA sanctions to join a war against Iran,' are not true.

As an independent and sovereign state, Turkey determines and implements its foreign policy and security decisions solely and exclusively by itself. Statements to the contrary are completely unfounded and malicious. There is no such situation as Turkey entering a war against Iran or presenting any conditions, including the lifting of CAATSA sanctions, for this purpose.

It is kindly requested that such content aimed at manipulating public opinion be disregarded."
