DMM issues statement regarding claims of MOSSAD agents dominating the agenda

The Presidency's Directorate of Communications Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM) has announced that the claim that "there is unusual density at the Iran-Turkey Bazargan Border Gate, and MOSSAD elements could infiltrate the country through uncontrolled migration" is not true.

In the statement made by the DMM, it was stated that the claim shared by some domestic and foreign accounts on social media platforms, "there is unusual density at the Iran-Turkey Bazargan Border Gate, and MOSSAD elements could infiltrate the country through uncontrolled migration," is untrue.

The statement noted that the footage was not recorded at the Gürbulak Border Gate as claimed, but at the Kapıköy Border Gate in Van on June 3, before the tension between Iran and Israel began, and included the following expressions:

"Our Ministry of Interior and relevant security units confirm that there is no unusual activity, density, or irregular crossing situation at either the Kapıköy or Gürbulak border gates. In contacts made with Iranian authorities, information was received that there were only 25-30 people at their own border. Our borders are kept under control by our security units on a 24/7 basis with physical security systems equipped with the most advanced technology.

It is assessed that the images and claims in question are intended to mislead the public, create social outrage, fuel xenophobia, and create a perception of instability. Sharing false information with the intent to create fear and panic among the public is a crime under Article 217/A of the Turkish Penal Code (TCK). Respectfully announced to the public."
