DMM responds to claims of a fertilizer crisis due to developments in the Strait of Hormuz

The Presidency's Directorate of Communications Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM) has announced that claims suggesting a fertilizer crisis is occurring in Turkey and that the food supply is at risk due to developments originating from the Strait of Hormuz do not reflect the truth. The statement emphasized that the claims in question contain disinformation.

In a post shared on the DMM's social media account, it was stated: "The claim appearing in some media outlets that 'a fertilizer crisis is occurring in Turkey and the food supply is in danger due to developments in the Strait of Hormuz' contains disinformation. Statements made by our Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry have clearly expressed that there is no problem regarding fertilizer supply in Turkey, that production processes are continuing without interruption, and that current stocks are sufficient.

Turkey also possesses various supply channels, and supply security in the relevant areas is being maintained without interruption. It is important for the public to be sensitive to posts that aim to create a perception of panic and chaos by distorting global developments, and to take into account only statements made by official sources."
