Dog pulled alive from the rubble
A dog was rescued alive from the rubble of a 3-story building that collapsed in Küçükçekmece this morning.
In the Kartaltepe neighborhood of Küçükçekmece, a 4-story building located at the intersection of Belediye Street and Geçit Street, which was reportedly built in 1988, collapsed at around 08:40 this morning.
Eight people were rescued from the rubble with injuries, and one person lost their life. Following the search and rescue efforts by AFAD, municipal teams, and volunteer search and rescue crews at the scene, debris removal operations had been initiated.
COOKIE ALSO PULLED OUT ALIVE
Korkut Yılmaz Ayaz, who managed to escape the rubble on his own, had stated that his terrier, Cookie, was also trapped underneath. During the debris removal, the excavator operator clearing concrete pieces noticed Ayaz's dog, Cookie. With the help of the teams, the dog, Cookie, was pulled from the rubble alive. After being given food, the dog was taken to a veterinarian for a check-up.
