Downpours affect some regions in Istanbul
Rain and storms continue to affect parts of Istanbul. Downpours were effective on the European side of the city.
Istanbul's European side saw short-term downpours in Arnavutköy, Şişli, Sultangazi, and Fatih.
On Halaskargazi Street in Şişli, citizens took shelter in bus stops, shop entrances, and protected areas of buildings to escape the rain. Drivers were also forced to proceed slowly due to the precipitation.
On the Anatolian side, thunderstorms and storms were effective in Pendik, Çekmeköy, and Ümraniye.
The rainfall continues intermittently in some parts of the city.
The Istanbul Governor's Office had previously issued a warning, announcing that strong winds and short-term storms were expected from the south and southwest, and over time from the northwest, starting from the morning hours, and urged citizens to be careful and take precautions against potential negative consequences.
