Driver and passenger jump from crane after brakes fail
In the Gönen district of Balıkesir, a driver and his passenger reportedly jumped from a crane after its brakes failed. One person lost their life in the accident, and the driver was injured.
According to the information obtained, a crane with license plate 10 TD 049, driven by Hakan Ç. (35), went off the road on the Gönen-Balya highway after its brakes failed.
It is alleged that when the driver realized the vehicle would not stop, he and the passenger, Yılmaz Çetin (48), jumped from the vehicle to save themselves.
While the driver was injured in the accident, Yılmaz Çetin (48) lost his life. The injured driver was taken to the hospital by an ambulance that arrived at the scene.
Crime scene investigation teams conducted an examination at the site of the accident. The body of Yılmaz Çetin (48) was sent to the Bursa Forensic Medicine Institute to determine the exact cause of death. An investigation into the accident has been launched.
