Düzce Mayor challenges 'Bolu Mountain' name: 'Let's correct this mistake, it is Düzce Mountain'

Düzce Mayor Faruk Özlü stated that the name "Bolu Mountain" is geographically incorrect and that the mountain's name should be changed to "Düzce Mountain".

Özlü, a former AK Party deputy and Minister of Science, Industry and Technology, used the following expressions in a post on his social media account:

"There are misconceptions that are accepted as truth. They are wrong, but people think they are right. One of these is the name 'Bolu Mountain'. In fact, there is no 'mountain' on the Bolu side. The Bolu side is a 'plain'. The mountain is on the Düzce side. According to its geographical structure, this is not 'Bolu Mountain' but 'Düzce Mountain'.

In terms of living space, almost all of the businesses along the road on the mountain also belong to the people of Düzce. Let's correct this mistake. The correct name of this mountain is 'Düzce Mountain'."
