Earthquake survivors unable to find their loved ones for 1 year:

The Taşkın family, living in Nevşehir, has not received any news for 1 year regarding Mustafa Kılıç (31), his wife Hasret Kılıç (28), and their daughter Asel Kılıç (4), who resided in the İlke Apartment located on Zümrüt Street in the Güzelburç neighborhood of Hatay, one of the provinces hit hardest by the earthquake on February 6, 2023. The family of Hasret Kılıç, living in Nevşehir, wants their children to be found dead or alive as soon as possible.

The Taşkın family tries to find comfort by looking at the pictures remaining from their children and the videos and photos taken on their granddaughter's birthday.

"WE CANNOT REACH THEM DEAD OR ALIVE"

Stating that they have kept watch at the rubble of the collapsed building since the first day, but could not reach their loved ones either dead or alive, the Taşkın family said that all that remains of their children are the pictures they found in the rubble and the video taken on their granddaughter's birthday.
Father Ahmet Taşkın, who said they lost his daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter in the earthquakes, said, "We have been looking for our children since February 6. We have applied to many places so far, but we have not received any results. They did not come out of the rubble, we gave DNA samples but there was no match. We submitted petitions, filed lawsuits, called hospitals, gave DNA samples, we could not get any results."

"WE HAVE NO STRENGTH LEFT TO ENDURE"

Mother Hatice Taşkın, who said they would attend the programs to be held in Hatay as a family on the anniversary of the disaster of the century, which will complete its 1st year on February 6, also wants her children to be found as soon as possible. Mother Taşkın said, "We have no strength left to endure. We haven't received any news for 12 months. We want our state to step in. If they are alive, let us find them alive. If they have died, let us find their bodies so they can have a grave."

"AT LEAST LET US HAVE A GRAVE"

Buse Taşkın, who lost her sister, niece, and brother-in-law in the earthquake, said, "With so many missing people, we want our state to help us. We want our voices to be heard. We want to at least have a grave. We will go to Hatay again on February 6 to try to make our voices heard."
