Ebubekir Şahin re-elected as RTÜK President

RTÜK announced that Ebubekir Şahin has been re-elected as the President of RTÜK, while Orhan Karadaş has been re-elected as the Vice President.

In his speech there, Şahin thanked President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who nominated him again during the member elections in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), and everyone who supported him.

Pointing to the work carried out during his tenure as RTÜK President, which has lasted for more than four years, Şahin stated, "We did not compromise on our red lines. By prioritizing our national security, we never allowed terrorism or terrorist propaganda in broadcasts. We fought for broadcasts that respect our social and cultural values. We worked continuously for broadcast content that prioritizes women, children, the disabled, and the elderly."

Stating that they always prioritized dialogue by keeping the use of sanctioning power in the background, Şahin noted that they also said "stop" to those who insisted on being wrong despite all warnings and reminders.
