Economist's take on election results from Özgür Demirtaş

According to the unofficial results of the March 31 Local Elections, the CHP achieved a significant victory. Having managed to retain control of Turkey's most important metropolitan cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, the CHP also won the administration of many new provinces and districts.

While many figures commented on the victory, economist Özgür Demirtaş also looked at the election results through the eyes of an economist. Describing the situation as a historic lesson given to the ruling party, Demirtaş used the following expressions:

"It appears that a HISTORIC lesson has been given to the ruling party. The 'Nas' Economic Policy has hit a wall.

I hope that lessons are learned from this and that no political party ever deviates from scientific facts again."
