Egypt: Preparations underway to evacuate approximately 7,000 foreigners from Gaza
Egypt has announced that preparations have begun for the evacuation of approximately 7,000 foreign nationals from the Gaza Strip, where Israel continues its intense attacks, via the Rafah Border Crossing.
According to a written statement from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Foreign Minister Ismail Khairat met with ambassadors and representatives of foreign missions in the country.
During the meeting, where preparations regarding the evacuation of foreign nationals in Gaza were discussed, Khairat stated that "preparations are underway for the evacuation of approximately 7,000 people holding passports from more than 60 countries."
The statement noted that the evacuations would be carried out through the Rafah Border Crossing, but no information was provided regarding the timing.
Wael Abu Mohsen, Media Director of the Rafah Border Crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip, said in a statement yesterday that citizens of 110 countries had left Gaza and crossed into Egypt.
LATEST SITUATION IN ISRAEL'S ATTACKS ON GAZA
The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, launched a comprehensive attack on the morning of October 7, citing the reason of "responding to Israel's continuous violations against Palestinians and their sacred values, especially the Al-Aqsa Mosque," while the Israeli army launched an intense aerial bombardment on the Gaza Strip.
Israel announced that more than 1,400 Israelis, including 315 soldiers, were killed and 5,132 people were injured in the attacks from Gaza.
According to Israel, the number of soldiers killed in clashes in the Gaza Strip since October 31 has risen to 18, while there are 242 Israeli captives in the hands of the Qassam Brigades.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, 9,061 Palestinians, including 3,760 children and 2,326 women, have been killed and at least 32,000 people have been injured in Israeli attacks.
Israeli forces and Jewish settlers have also killed 134 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem.
The Israeli army, which has targeted Al-Shifa Hospital, the largest health facility in Gaza where thousands of wounded and civilians are located, has struck the Al-Ahli Baptist and Turkish-Palestinian Friendship hospitals, and bombed the surroundings of the Al-Quds and Indonesian hospitals, which are affiliated with the Palestinian Red Crescent and which it forced to evacuate.
In the clashes between the Israeli army and Hezbollah since October 8, 49 Hezbollah members and 4 Israeli soldiers have been killed.
