Ekrem İmamoğlu's judicial interrogation has begun

Investigations initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office continue against İBB Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and 99 suspects on allegations of "managing a criminal organization," "membership in a criminal organization," "extortion," "bribery," "qualified fraud," "unlawful acquisition of personal data," and "rigging a tender," as well as against 7 suspects, including İmamoğlu, İBB Deputy Secretary General Mahir Polat, and Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan, on allegations of "aiding the PKK/KCK terrorist organization."

Following his testimony to the prosecutor at the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan, the interrogation of İmamoğlu has begun after he was referred to the duty criminal court of peace with a request for his arrest on charges of "establishing a criminal organization," "rigging a tender," and "accepting bribes" as part of the corruption investigation, and "aiding an armed terrorist organization" as part of the terrorism investigation.

It was learned that İmamoğlu's identity verification has been completed.

Meanwhile, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, and İmamoğlu's wife Dilek and son Selim İmamoğlu have returned to the courthouse from the İBB building in Saraçhane.

Speaking to members of the press, Özel stated that they would remain at the courthouse until the process is concluded.

Noting that they would follow the court proceedings, Özel said, "His family will follow the court proceedings. I will follow the court on behalf of the party. There was a restriction regarding that. By holding the necessary meetings, an agreement was reached for the chairman to follow on behalf of the party and for his family to follow in this manner. Our colleagues will be waiting here, ready."

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yavaş stated, "If there is justice, we expect them to be released immediately."

Özel, Yavaş, and İmamoğlu's family passed through the police barriers and entered the courtroom.

İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu, some CHP deputies, and party officials continue to wait on the floor where the court is located.
