Remarkable words from Ekrem İmamoğlu about Bahçeli! 'I know he sees the sabotage'

CHP's presidential candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who has been imprisoned in Silivri Prison since March 23, made statements regarding current issues.

Speaking to Halk TV, İmamoğlu touched upon the new peace process called Terror-Free Turkey and said, "My imprisonment is the greatest sabotage against the 'Terror-Free Turkey' process."

İmamoğlu stated the following:

“My imprisonment through the İBB case is the greatest sabotage carried out against the process that began under the name 'Terror-Free Turkey'. They are still continuing this sabotage. The biggest obstacle to the commission's success is the sabotage carried out by the government through conspiracies, judicial processes, and the appointment of trustees.”

İmamoğlu emphasized, “If the government does not deviate from this dangerous path, it will not be able to demonstrate the ability to resolve the 'Terror-Free Turkey' process.”

REMARKABLE WORDS ABOUT BAHÇELİ

Responding to MHP leader Bahçeli's statement yesterday, İmamoğlu used the following expressions:

"I do not find it morally or legally correct for Mr. Devlet Bahçeli to use harsh expressions against me and our Chairman Mr. Özgür Özel, and to level accusations regarding this conspiracy case, for which not even an indictment has been prepared, while disregarding the presumption of innocence. However, I know that he sees the greatest sabotage carried out against this process, which determines Turkey's fate, and that he understands who is behind it.

The accusations against the person he described as a companion were not made by the CHP, but by this government itself. The conspirators, who think they are smarter than everyone else, have also made ugly slanders against my brother Fatih Keleş over this matter. Surely, the judiciary will one day be impartial and independent, and the truth will emerge sooner or later.

In short, there is only one address for the answers. The lantern has been lit, the sail has fluttered. Eyes will see, and reason will decide. However, the reason that will make the final decision always belongs to the nation. The end of terrorism and conflict, and the state and nation finally achieving democratization, is the goal of all of Turkey. We state that this sabotage is not directed at anyone, but at our state and our nation.

And we insistently say that the day the nation will make its decision is approaching. Patience has run out; our nation no longer has the strength to endure the disgraces inflicted upon Turkey. Whether it is Bahçeli or İmamoğlu; if Turkey's future is being considered, everyone should think twice about what they say and not forget their responsibility to the nation."

REACTION TO TRANSFERS: RANSOM POLITICS

İmamoğlu reacted to the mayors who resigned from the CHP and joined the AKP. Evaluating it as “ransom politics,” İmamoğlu spoke as follows:

“This ransom method begins with blackmail through criminal or inspection files and prosecutor's investigations directed at mayors. It continues with threats of 'if you join the AK Party, you are free; if you don't, you are in prison.' It results in those who pay their ransom by crossing to the government side being cleared of investigations.

The path to prison has appeared for mayors who do not bow down, while a transfer obligation has been imposed on those who kneel. The greatest meaning of the transfers carried out through ransom politics is this: All imprisoned CHP members have been exonerated.”

İmamoğlu stands behind the CHP's decision to participate in the commission established in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) for the 'Terror-Free Turkey' process. He even went a step further, saying that the March 19 Operation was a sabotage against the 'Terror-Free Turkey' process.
