Election adjustments for public transport in İzmir

The İzmir Metropolitan Municipality has taken its precautions for the Local Administration Elections.

On Sunday, March 31, buses on designated routes and rail system vehicles will begin service starting at 03:30, while passenger ferries will begin service at 03:00.

Special service arrangements have been made for the Local Administration Elections to be held on Sunday, March 31, for ESHOT, İZULAŞ, İZTAŞIT, İZDENİZ, İzmir Metro, and İzmir Tram, which are affiliated with the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, as well as İZBAN, which is operated in partnership with the Metropolitan Municipality and TCDD.
To ensure convenient transportation for poll workers who will begin their duties at 05:00, all public transport vehicles will begin service starting at 03:00 and 03:30 on the night connecting Saturday to Sunday. Following the election, public transport services will continue uninterrupted to ensure that poll workers can safely deliver ballot box results and return home.

ESHOT General Directorate buses will continue to serve on all routes on election day. The start time for services on 172 routes using main arteries has been set for 03:30 on the night connecting Saturday to Sunday. In addition to the "Owl" (night) lines (910 Gaziemir-Konak, 920 Çiğli-Konak, 930 Bornova-Konak, 940 Buca-Konak, 950 Balçova-Konak), 22 bus lines connected to district election boards will also operate until the morning of Monday, April 1. Services on the metro and tram lines operated by İzmir Metro A.Ş. will also continue throughout the day. Service intervals can be viewed on the izmirmetro.com.tr website and the operator's social media accounts.
In İZBAN, 14 additional services have been planned due to the election. Additional trains will depart from Tepeköy, Aliağa, and Alsancak stations in both directions at 03:30. İZDENİZ passenger ferries will also begin ring services between the Konak-Karşıyaka and Karşıyaka-Alsancak piers as of 03:00 on Sunday night. On Monday, April 1, the ferries will operate between the Karşıyaka-Alsancak and Karşıyaka-Konak piers from 23:30 to 06:30.
