Election work begins in AKP following Erdoğan's directive! Changes in 50 provinces in 6 months
The process of change is accelerating within the AKP, which decided to restructure its organizations following the local elections. While personnel changes are being planned for new provincial presidencies following Adana, Diyarbakır, Giresun, and Siirt, it is being discussed in political circles that approximately 50 provincial organizations could be renewed within 6 months.
In a political atmosphere where discussions of early elections continue, the AKP aims to increase its effectiveness on the ground through personnel changes within its organization. As a result of field analyses and public opinion research conducted due to the loss of votes in the local elections, the party management decided to initiate a radical renewal process.
THE PROCESS OF CHANGE IN ORGANIZATIONS IS ACCELERATING
The AKP Organization Presidency, which recently made changes to the provincial presidencies of Adana, Diyarbakır, Giresun, and Siirt, signaled that such steps would continue throughout the summer. It is planned to change the management of at least nine more provincial organizations within the month of June. According to the report by Cumhuriyet, organizations in approximately 50 provinces will be restructured by the end of the year.
In the change plan, provincial presidents who remain weak in communication with citizens, fail to manage local dynamics well, and fall behind targets in elections are being prioritized for scrutiny. More comprehensive management changes are targeted, especially in metropolitan areas and regions where vote shares have declined. It is on the agenda to renew not only provincial presidents but also provincial executive boards and some district organizations.
ERDOĞAN’S MESSAGES WERE EFFECTIVE
These initiatives are a result of the evaluations made by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan regarding the organizations in the recent period. It is stated that in meetings with the party's top management, Erdoğan frequently gave messages to "get out into the field," "establish contact with citizens," and "keep the organizations vibrant."
According to information obtained from party sources, the management does not want to be content with just name changes. A new structure is being worked on, especially to establish a stronger communication network with young voters, to carry out field work more effectively, and to renew local campaign strategies.
RESTRUCTURING WITHIN THE SCOPE OF ELECTION PREPARATIONS
According to party sources, the ongoing change process is considered to be beyond a routine change of duty. It is stated that in the internal evaluations made after the local election results, the view that the organizational structure should be reviewed and reorganized in some regions in line with the current picture has come to the fore.
CLAIM OF CHANGES IN 50 PROVINCES
It is stated that the AKP management aims to make the organizations more effective against a possible early election scenario and that new duty changes may come to the agenda in the coming period in this direction. According to claims voiced in party circles, changes are expected to be made in approximately 50 provincial organizations within the next 6 months.
