Entry to forests banned in Çanakkale
The Çanakkale Governor's Office has announced that, due to the risk of forest fires, entry into forested areas is prohibited for everyone except authorized personnel between June 1 and September 30, 2025.
The Çanakkale Governor's Office has announced that new measures have been taken against the risk of forest fires due to the high temperatures, wind, and low humidity levels expected during the summer months. Under the additional measures taken in coordination with the Regional Directorate of Forestry and based on the Forestry Law No. 6831, the Governor's Office announced that entry into forests is prohibited from June 1 to September 30, 2025.
The statement said, "As meteorological conditions that carry a very high risk for forest fires are expected to occur (high temperatures, extreme wind, low humidity), it has been deemed necessary to take additional measures in the fight against forest fires under the coordination of the Regional Directorate of Forestry. In this context, entry into forested areas within Çanakkale, except for authorized personnel, is prohibited between June 1 and September 30, 2025."
