Erdoğan accuses CHP of corruption: 'Why this atmosphere of panic?'

Erdoğan accused the CHP of failing to respond to allegations of corruption and fraud. Stating that the opposition is stirring up the streets and using young people, he asked CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, 'What are you afraid of?' Noting that the CHP cannot vouch for its mayors regarding corruption, Erdoğan reported that they themselves are being attacked.

Accusing the CHP of theft, Erdoğan emphasized that the opposition is in a state of panic. While noting that marginal left-wing organizations are at the forefront of the protests, Erdoğan stated that the CHP is 'acting indecently.'

Expressing that the CHP is hiding behind young people, Erdoğan used the following expressions:

''A lot of filth is being spilled, including diploma fraud where the rights of hundreds of thousands of young people have been violated...

Bundles of cash are popping up from left and right. A terrible heist involving hundreds of billions of liras is being discussed. But the CHP Chairman and his cohorts cannot answer any of these.

They cannot appear before the nation and say 'there is no fraud, there is no theft; there is no corruption, irregularity, bribery, extortion, or nepotism.' They cannot say 'neither we nor our friends have touched what is forbidden.' They cannot vouch for their own mayors, their own municipal administrators; for the friends they have worked with and walked the path with for years.

Instead of coming out like lions and answering the allegations, they are trying to cover up their crimes like a brazen thief by attacking us, by being indecent toward our People's Alliance partner and its esteemed Chairman, by stirring up the streets, by hiding behind young people, and by pushing marginal left-wing organizations to the front.

I ask the CHP Chairman:

Mr. Özel, why are you afraid, why are you hesitant; why this rush, this atmosphere of panic, this aggression? Until just yesterday, you were saying 'there is no suspicion.'

Until just yesterday, you were talking about transparency and honesty. What happened that you suddenly got nervous? What happened that your knees started to shake? Who will you purge now, who will you stab in the back?

Whose feet will you trip up now with devious methods?''
