AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a meeting with United States President Donald Trump in The Hague, where he is attending the NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government.

Bilateral relations between Turkey and the US, as well as regional and global issues, were discussed during the meeting.

President Erdoğan stated during the meeting that the two countries possess great potential in various fields, particularly in energy and investment, and that advancing cooperation in the defense industry would facilitate reaching the total trade volume target of 100 billion dollars.

President Erdoğan emphasized that he welcomed the ceasefire achieved between Israel and Iran through the efforts of US President Trump, expressed his hope for it to be permanent, and highlighted the importance of close dialogue in ending the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza as soon as possible and in finding a peaceful resolution to the war between Russia and Ukraine.
