Erdoğan attacks opposition with earthquake message: 'Earthquake tourists'

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan criticized the opposition while commemorating the February 6 earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş. In his post, Erdoğan used the term "earthquake tourists" and delivered a message regarding the local elections. 

Erdoğan's post is as follows:

"A year ago, as a nation, we experienced the disaster of the century. 'Earthquake tourists' stopped by the region briefly, posed in front of the rubble, and then left. Their paths never crossed these places again.

They found new topics to exploit.                                        

I am not even counting the insults, rudeness, and lack of conscience directed at our earthquake victims just because they did not vote in line with their expectations...

Not just a year, even if decades pass, we will not forget these immoralities, nor will we let them be forgotten.

Those insults directed at our heartbroken people have stuck to the foreheads of their perpetrators like a black stain, and they will always remain there.

We will continue to throw their dirty history in their faces so that no one will ever dare to treat our nation like this again.

While the earthquake is our country's most urgent and important issue, we see with regret that these circles have still not learned the necessary lesson.

They have neither the concern nor the agenda to prepare the cities they govern for earthquakes.

The amounts they spend on advertising are many times higher than the budgets they allocate for earthquakes...

They do not put forward any goals regarding earthquakes or urban transformation.

They act as if Turkey did not lose 53,000 of its lives just a year ago and did not experience one of the greatest natural disasters of the century.

What can we say?..

May God not let our nation fall into the hands of these oblivious people."
