Erdoğan issues warning to his party and makes veiled remarks on İmralı: 'This president is receiving many complaints'

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended his party's 8th Ordinary Congress in Rize.

Speaking at the event, Erdoğan targeted CHP-run municipalities, saying: "With the support of global and social media, they insidiously plant lies, misinformation, distorted facts, and exaggerated, ordinary activities into the minds of our nation. While the miserable state of our cities, especially those with CHP municipalities like Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, is evident, they polish and market those responsible for it."

"THE STEPS WE TAKE WILL BE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE NATION"

Speaking in veiled terms regarding the meeting between the DEM Party and terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan, which took place following the call from MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, Erdoğan stated: "We have a unique opportunity before us to leave a mark on history together. Just as success cannot be achieved in any field of life without taking risks, politics cannot be conducted without them either. Our goal is a Turkey without terrorism. The results of the steps we take will be for the benefit of the nation. One of Turkey's most significant problems is the occupation of every space by the 'limousine liberal' type. These types can infiltrate our ranks as well. There is no place for those who hold this mindset among us."

WARNING TO HIS PARTY

In a portion of his speech, Erdoğan issued warnings to his party. Stating that he receives numerous complaints, Erdoğan said: "Whatever position you hold, whether you are a provincial head, a mayor, or a member of parliament; if any of my citizens comes to you and asks for a task to be done or for a requirement to be met, you do not have the right to refer them elsewhere. As long as you do this, I, as your chairman, do not grant you my blessing."

Erdoğan continued as follows:

"Some may find what I say difficult. But know that this chairman, this president, is receiving many complaints. I must voice these complaints, and you all must know them. Some of my colleagues may see what I am saying as impossible. As we conduct our politics, we will look not to anything else or anyone else, but to serving our righteous cause."

"OUR GOAL IS 50 PERCENT"

Giving a message regarding the congresses, Erdoğan said: "We have many more works to bring to the country and many more services to provide to the nation. For this reason, we see our congresses as a ground for resurgence and energy renewal."

Erdoğan added: "Together with our grand congress, we will open the door to a new era. Our goal is to bring the AK Party back to the 50 percent band in the elections."
