Erdoğan makes statement regarding investigations into IMM! 'What has emerged is a harbinger of what is to come'
Speaking at his party's Extended Provincial Heads Meeting, AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan targeted the CHP. Regarding the investigations launched into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), Erdoğan said, "What has emerged is a harbinger of what is to come. Where the tentacles of this network, which has wrapped around Istanbul like ivy, reach will be seen more clearly in the coming period."
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended his party's Extended Provincial Heads Meeting.
Delivering a speech there, Erdoğan targeted the CHP.
"CHP IS LIKE A MARGINAL ORGANIZATION"
Speaking about the protest demonstrations that began during the process following the detention and arrest of IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu, Erdoğan claimed that the CHP is acting like a marginal organization.
Erdoğan stated the following:
“We did not pay attention to the crude rhetoric of the main opposition. We often ignored their arrogance and insolence by saying 'patience.' We did this not because we were afraid to put the insolent in their place, but out of respect for the spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan. As we displayed greatness, they lowered the level even further. As we showed patience, they increased the dose of their insults. They clung to more provocative rhetoric. They perceived our civility and cool-headed attitude as a sign of weakness.
In politics, there are no enemies, only rivals. In politics, there is competition, not hostility. Politics is a symbol of civilization. There is no place in politics for street terror, vandalism, and especially profanity. The CHP is acting like a marginal organization. Local businesses targeted on a lynch list have been harassed and threatened by marginal leftist organizations. Instead of acting with common sense, the CHP Chairman has sought to obstruct a corruption investigation involving hundreds of billions of liras. By slandering state institutions like MASAK and accusing the public officials working in these institutions, he has tried to cover up the criminal organizations that have entrenched themselves in Istanbul.
"CHP MANAGEMENT IS AWARE OF THE CORRUPTION"
In the continuation of his speech, Erdoğan also touched upon the investigations launched into the IMM.
“What has emerged is a harbinger of what is to come,” said Erdoğan, adding, “Where the tentacles of this network, which has wrapped around Istanbul like ivy, reach will be seen more clearly in the coming period.”
Erdoğan’s statements are as follows:
“The CHP management is aware that there is major corruption that it cannot cover up by shouting. This is just the tip of the iceberg. The CHP is also aware of this. Fear is of no use against destiny. What is obvious needs no explanation. What has emerged is a harbinger of what is to come. You cannot prevent justice from being served. It is the duty of the judiciary on behalf of the Turkish nation to break those dirty hands reaching into the public treasury, regardless of who their master is.
Where the tentacles of this network, which has wrapped around Istanbul like ivy, reach will be seen more clearly in the coming period. Those who complain about their country to the West just to defend their corruption, and those who threaten to sink the country's economy, have once again been disappointed. They themselves had to admit that they could not find support from the West, from whom they sought help. Their efforts to add their Western friends to their corruption have come to nothing this time.
The tradition of the newcomer making one miss the predecessor never seems to break in the CHP. No one should take offense. But the attitude of the CHP Chairman is an attitude that does not befit the thousands-year-old history of this nation. We do not want any political party or chairman to be in such a state of helplessness, even if they are our rival."
