Pardon decision from Erdoğan: Includes Hezbollah members!

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has exercised his power of individual pardon under the 16th paragraph of Article 104 of the Constitution, commuting the sentences of 10 inmates.

According to the decisions published in the Official Gazette, the convicts pardoned due to chronic illness, disability, or old age include 2 Hezbollah members.

The grounds for the pardon were cited as health problems documented by Forensic Medicine Institute reports and advanced age.

The convicts whose sentences were commuted by the decision published in the Official Gazette are:

Ali D.: Pardoned due to advanced age.

Gülden A.: Pardoned due to chronic illness.

Uğur E.: Pardoned due to chronic illness and disability.

Şehmus A.: Pardoned due to chronic illness and disability.

Ayhan K.: Pardoned due to chronic illness and disability.

Hulki N.: Pardoned due to chronic illness.

Abdulkadir E.: Pardoned due to chronic illness.

Hamit Ç.: Pardoned due to chronic illness.

Kenan K.: Pardoned due to disability.

Ziya Y.: Pardoned due to advanced age and health condition.

While each pardon decision is evaluated on an individual basis, the names of the released individuals and the reasons for their convictions were shared with the public in the Official Gazette.
