Erdoğan remains silent on the issue of absolute nullity!

President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the 2nd Natural Resources Summit held in Istanbul. While Erdoğan did not make any assessment regarding the "absolute nullity" decision concerning the CHP, which has been on the agenda in recent days, he focused his speech primarily on developments and investments in Turkey's energy sector.

Erdoğan stated that Turkey is no longer a country associated with terrorism and that cities have developed rapidly thanks to investments, offering the following assessment: "As the dark shadow of terrorism recedes, cities are rising rapidly."

Drawing attention to the importance of Turkey's geographical location, Erdoğan noted that the country is a key transit point for energy and transportation. "Turkey is the strongest bridge. It is a transit and junction point. Recent crises in our region have confirmed this feature of Turkey. Turkey has emerged as both a reliable partner in energy transit and a key actor for peace," he said.

Arguing that Turkey plays a critical role in the security and supply of energy resources, Erdoğan said, "Ensuring the safe, stable, and low-cost transit of energy resources is at least as important as possessing the resources themselves. Turkey's indispensability in this process has also been understood."

Explaining that significant breakthroughs have been made in the energy sector since the AK Party government took office, Erdoğan stated that the natural gas entry capacity has been increased from 90 million cubic meters to 495 million cubic meters, and that natural gas is supplied from different countries through various pipelines. He also emphasized that Turkey has become one of Europe's leading energy hubs through investments in LNG and FSRU facilities and storage infrastructure.

Drawing attention to drilling and exploration activities, Erdoğan said, "Saying that 'only those who seek shall find,' we have made very serious investments over 10 years. We carried out exploration activities with our own ships and equipment. With our Fatih drillship, we made the largest discovery in the history of our Republic. Our daily production in the Sakarya gas field has reached 9.5 million cubic meters. We will increase it to 20 million cubic meters. We will meet the needs of 8 million households from the Black Sea."

Noting that the steps Turkey has taken in natural gas and oil production contribute to the country's energy security, Erdoğan stated that the oil discovery made in Gabar is the largest in the history of the Republic. He said that the production obtained from there accounts for 44 percent of domestic oil production.

Stating that they are planning research and production activities in new fields in Diyarbakır, Erdoğan expressed that drilling activities in Somalia and Pakistan will also continue.

Erdoğan stated that Turkey also stands out in the mining sector due to possessing a large portion of the world's boron reserves and rare earth element reserves found in Eskişehir, adding that the first products have been obtained in lithium carbonate production and that the establishment of an industrial facility with a capacity of 600 tons per year is targeted.

Pointing out that critical mineral resources have become as strategic as energy, Erdoğan stated that Turkey aspires to be a rule-maker, not a spectator, in this field. "We have prepared the infrastructure for this very solidly over the last 23 years. Thanks to the climate of trust and peace we have established, we have broken new ground in this field with the Mersin Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant. We have also implemented the largest projects in our history in the field of clean energy," he said.

Emphasizing that they will continue to utilize the country's natural resources in the most efficient way, the President added that full independence in energy is their "red apple" and that they are moving towards this goal.
