Erdoğan shared at 04:17: 'Our state took immediate action with all its resources'

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a post on social media on the anniversary of the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş.

President Erdoğan, who made the post at 04:17, the time the first 7.7 magnitude earthquake occurred, stated the following:

"The pain of the lives we lost in the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes we experienced one year ago continues to burn our hearts with the same freshness as the first day.

I wish God's mercy upon each of our 53,537 souls we lost, and offer my condolences to their relatives and our nation. I would like to reiterate my get-well wishes to our more than 107,000 citizens who were injured in the disaster of the century. I pray to God for a speedy recovery for our injured whose treatments are still ongoing. The destruction experienced in our 11 provinces, which are among the most ancient settlements in human history, was truly immense. Such great disasters and great pains are also turning points where the strength of a nation's unity, solidarity, and brotherhood is tested. Thank God, our nation has successfully passed this painful and equally historic test. While our state took immediate action with all its resources, Turkey became one heart and one fist; our nation rushed to the side of their earthquake-stricken brothers and sisters, and the solidarity of the century was demonstrated in the face of the disaster of the century.

While we commemorate the lives we laid to rest with Fatihas, prayers, and sorrow, we are working with all our might to keep the promises we made to our nation. We will continue these efforts until we rebuild and revive our cities, and until we deliver our last citizen whose home was destroyed or rendered unusable to their safe new home. May the Almighty not let our country and nation experience such disasters again, and may He not expose us to such trials."
