Erdoğan shares video regarding Ax-3 mission
President Erdoğan released a video message minutes before the space mission. Erdoğan stated, "We are making a very valuable new beginning to once again carry out the mission we have held throughout history."
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan released a video message regarding the space journey of Alper Gezeravcı, the first Turkish astronaut to make history by participating in the Ax-3 mission.
"WE ARE SENDING A CITIZEN INTO SPACE FOR THE FIRST TIME"
Erdoğan used the following expressions in his video message:
"My dear nation. Together, we are witnessing a historic moment. We are experiencing one of those times when our shared pride rises to its peak. We are stepping into the second century of our Republic, the Century of Turkey, with the first manned space mission we have ever carried out. As heirs to a civilization that has made unique contributions to the history of science, we are making a very valuable, new beginning to once again carry out the mission we have held throughout history. We are sending one of our citizens into space for the first time to be a source of inspiration for our youth who look at the horizon with a sparkle in their eyes, and for our children whose dreams do not fit into the world.
Alper Gezeravcı, who served heroically for years as a jet pilot in our Turkish Air Force, is setting off on a journey to the International Space Station today after long preparations and training. Thus, we are turning another one of the goals in our National Space Program, which we announced to the world in 2021, into reality.
"SCIENTIFIC STUDIES WILL BE CONDUCTED IN FIELDS SUCH AS ASTRONOMY, MEDICINE, GENETICS, AND MATERIAL SCIENCE"
Within the scope of the Turkish Space Science mission, which will last for 14 days at the International Space Station, 13 experiments prepared by our scientists will be carried out. Scientific studies will be conducted in fields such as astronomy, medicine, genetics, and material science. I wish these studies to be beneficial to our country and our scientists from now on. May God clear our path. Stay well."
