Erdoğan speaks with Halil Umut Meler
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone with referee Halil Umut Meler, who was punched by Ankaragücü President Faruk Koca.
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called referee Halil Umut Meler, who was attacked during the MKE Ankaragücü-Çaykur Rizespor match, to convey his "get well soon" wishes.
According to a statement from the Presidency's Directorate of Communications, Erdoğan expressed his sadness over the incident during the call.
Erdoğan told Meler that he had instructed the relevant ministers to take the necessary actions immediately following the incident.
President Erdoğan also received the latest information regarding his health status from both referee Meler and his doctors.
