Erdoğan speaks with Iranian President: Touches upon nuclear negotiation process

Attacks between Iran and Israel continue in the Middle East, where tensions have escalated significantly due to mutual missile strikes.

To assess the situation, AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan spoke with the Iranian President.

The following statement was issued by the Directorate of Communications regarding the meeting:

Our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, held a phone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

During the meeting, the conflict between Israel and Iran, as well as regional and global issues, were discussed.

President Erdoğan stated that he condemned Israel's unlawful attacks on Iran in the strongest terms and conveyed his condolences to the Iranian people for the loss of life.

Our President noted that Israel's attacks are a clear violation of international law, aim to drag the entire region into fire, and that Netanyahu is attempting to sabotage the nuclear negotiation process with these attacks.

President Erdoğan expressed that Israel is trying to divert the world's attention from the genocide in Gaza with its attacks on Iran.

Our President stated that Turkey is closely monitoring developments regarding the possibility of a nuclear leak at the facility in Natanz, and that the only solution to the nuclear dispute is through diplomatic processes.
