Erdoğan targets CHP again in Eid message: 'They must end their insistence on being wrong'

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan released a video message for Eid al-Adha.

Addressing Israel's attacks on civilians in Gaza in his message, Erdoğan stated:

"On behalf of my country and my nation, I respectfully salute our Palestinian brothers and sisters who are putting up a dignified resistance against all the barbarity of Israel while waging an epic struggle in Gaza and the occupied territories, and I sincerely congratulate them on their Eid al-Adha."

Stating that they are making every effort to ensure the war between Russia and Ukraine results in a just peace, Erdoğan said, "The meeting held in Istanbul on Monday, June 2, was a historic step toward ending the bloody war in our north, which is now entering its fourth year."

MESSAGES ON THE ECONOMY

Erdoğan also touched upon the economy in his Eid message. "We are seeing the positive effects of the macroeconomic stability and reform program in many areas, especially inflation," Erdoğan said, adding, "Our fight continues against all kinds of problems that lower the living standards of our citizens, especially the high cost of living."

NEW RECONCILIATION PROCESS

Regarding the new reconciliation process, which he calls a 'Terror-Free Turkey' and which was architected by MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, Erdoğan noted the following:

"We have placed the steps we have taken in the fields of economy, foreign policy, and security on a more solid foundation with our Terror-Free Turkey process.

We have moved to a new phase following the organization's decision to dissolve itself and lay down arms.

We have never allowed any initiative that would hurt the souls of our martyrs or offend our martyrs' relatives and veterans, and we will never allow it from now on. I believe that when we reach the goal of a Terror-Free Turkey with ease, we will all embrace a much stronger and much more effective future together."

TARGETING THE CHP AGAIN

In the remainder of his message, Erdoğan targeted the CHP. Reacting to the CHP's decision not to participate in Eid greetings, Erdoğan said, "I would also like to express our sadness that the main opposition has become a party that does not exchange Eid greetings with anyone at a time when we are strengthening our eternal brotherhood and our internal front as 86 million people. Our wish is for this insistence on being wrong to end as soon as possible and for all of Turkey's colors to succeed in coming together, especially during holidays."
