Erdoğan to the EU: Our membership negotiations must be revived

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan participated in the "Online Meeting of Leaders of Like-Minded Countries" organized by the European Union and made significant statements.

"EUROPEAN SECURITY MUST BE PLANNED WITH TURKEY"

In his speech, Erdoğan stated that the security of Europe is not solely the responsibility of EU member states. Erdoğan said, "Steps regarding European security must be planned with Turkey."

Erdoğan stated that Turkey's goal of full membership in the European Union continues. "We expect our membership negotiations to be revived as soon as possible," he said.

Let us not forget that European security is not just an issue for member states of the union. It is a matter that concerns all European allies. We believe that it is in our mutual interest for all steps regarding European security to be planned together with Turkey. We believe there is no justification for excluding us from the European Union's defense procurement and reconstruction programs.
