'Erdoğan underwent surgery' claim!

Gazete Pencere columnist Nuray Babacan, in her article today, shared behind-the-scenes information regarding the backstory of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s statement during his party's group meeting, where he declared, "Hamas is not a terrorist organization.”

Stating that this message from Erdoğan was not in his prepared speech, Babacan noted that some believe the speech, which she described as having stunned even AKP members, was delivered under the influence of a 10-day 'convalescence period' following a minor prostate operation.

“CONSERVATIVE CIRCLES MET”

In her article, which she based on information from some AKP members, Babacan said, "It is said that during this period, the conservative circles he met with in Istanbul, the emotional comments made to him frequently by a group within his family, and even his meetings with the management of the IHH (Humanitarian Relief Foundation), which brought the Mavi Marmara organization as a burden onto Turkey's agenda, had an effect."

Babacan used the following expressions:

"Following Erdoğan’s Hamas statement, efforts are underway to regain Turkey’s mediation position. Assessments are being made regarding the effects of this speech on the cabinet. We had previously written that those most affected were Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek, who is trying to overcome the economic crisis. We know that this duo is struggling to turn things around from here, but their job is difficult. It seems we will be talking more about the bill brought by steps taken with local elections, base concerns, and emotionalism in mind, while ignoring Turkey’s interests, both in terms of the economy and foreign relations."
