Erdoğan to Özgür Özel: 'Watch your step, or we will know how to make you'

President Erdoğan made evaluations regarding the agenda at his party's Extended Provincial Chairs meeting. 

Speaking about the AKP's 8th Ordinary Congress held in Ankara last Sunday, Erdoğan emphasized that the congress represents a new beginning. Criticizing CHP leader Özgür Özel, Erdoğan said, "He should come out and answer the allegations of corruption; they have turned municipalities into family farms," and addressed CHP leader Özgür Özel, saying, "Watch your step; if you don't, we will know how to make you."

Highlights from Erdoğan's speech are as follows: 

"In AK Party politics, every congress holds the meaning and importance of a legal obligation. Each of our congresses represents a new beginning. The upcoming period will be a rise for our party, our alliance, our government, and ultimately our country. We have already begun to see the signs of this.

We find the opposition's intolerance quite normal. It is normal for those who cannot even hold a party convention without chairs and accusations flying through the air to look at us and become aggressive. These have no value in our eyes. The People's Alliance is the guarantee of Turkey.

We are a cadre that has placed consultation and common sense at the center of its politics since its establishment. The decree is final. Be upright in all your affairs, do not abandon consultation. We have held criticisms in high regard. We have listened to proposals carefully. We have noted warnings with sensitivity.

THANKS TO BAHÇELİ

The meaningful flower arrangement containing important symbols that Mr. Bahçeli sent to our congress also pleased us, made us happy. I thank him.

There is no purging in the AK Party, only reinforcement. We have renewal, refreshment, and a change of blood. The AK Party is the party of all 85 million.

While our rivals cannot lift their heads from fighting over seats, we are appearing before our nation with new reform packages. 

HARSH REACTION TO ÖZGÜR ÖZEL

The scandals that have spilled out from the bag in recent weeks show what kind of filth the main opposition is struggling in. From their conventions to their degrees, from their concerts to their tenders, either irregularity, corruption, or, in the words of former Çankaya Mayors, cannibalism is erupting.

Do you never do anything right? Mr. Özel should answer this instead of turning the nation's podium into a podium for polemics. Are you not ashamed of the state you have brought the party founded by Gazi Mustafa Kemal to?

'YOU WILL KNOW YOUR PLACE'

Mr. Özel talks a lot but speaks empty words. His debt of gratitude puts Mr. Özel in a difficult position. The low-level, irresponsible, and aggressive expressions he used regarding the command echelon of my army are the latest example. Mr. Özel, I am addressing you as Commander-in-Chief. Watch your step; if you don't, we will know how to make you. You do not have the authority or the right to attack the command echelon of my army. You will know your place.

My Minister of National Defense and the commanders will file a lawsuit against Özel. The sooner the CHP chairman comes to his senses, the better it will be for him. Otherwise, the bells that tolled for 'Bay Kemal' will start ringing for him. It cannot be expected that a structure that does not constantly produce will find solutions for the nation. They are of no use to anyone but themselves. This scene reminds us once again of what a heavy responsibility we bear. We are fighting to turn the ideal of a great and strong Turkey into reality. We are the hope of this nation. We are the guarantee of its independence.

We will not sit forever in these seats we have come to with the nation's appreciation. When the inevitable command comes, we will return to the black soil."
