President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at his party's rally in Çorum.
"THEY CAME UP WITH SOMETHING RECENTLY..."
Highlights from Erdoğan's statements are as follows:
"We have increased the salaries of civil servants, workers, and retirees by rates reaching up to 50 percent. Now, they have come up with something recently; 'let's increase the retirees' salaries.' We have made increases of up to 50 percent. In order to alleviate the difficulties of our retirees, we have implemented various solutions such as a one-time payment of 5 thousand liras, a 50 percent increase in holiday bonuses, and an increase in bank promotions. Our public banks have started accepting applications. The bonuses will be deposited into accounts next week. We have taken these steps despite the burden the earthquake has placed on our economy.
HE ASKED FOR "TRUST"
We are also taking steps regarding inflation, which is our biggest headache. Our ministries are taking steps regarding opportunists. We will all see the major decline in inflation in the second half of the year together. All 85 million will benefit from this. We do not want temporary relief with the lifespan of a butterfly; we want permanent relief.
Just as we brought inflation down to single digits before, God willing, we will succeed in doing the same again. We know very well what we are doing with our well-studied economic program and our strong staff. I ask my nation to trust us and our economic team."
