Erdoğan's visit to Diyarbakır following talks with Öcalan

Following the call from MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, DEM Party deputies Sırrı Süreyya Önder and Pervin Buldan held a meeting with Abdullah Öcalan on İmralı Island and shared Öcalan's message with the public. Following the meeting with Öcalan, the DEM Party announced that it would begin rounds of talks in Parliament. While it was stated that DEM Party deputies Sırrı Süreyya Önder and Pervin Buldan had informed HDP Co-Chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan, it was announced that a delegation including Ahmet Türk would meet with Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş and MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli today. Claims that the DEM Party delegation would also request an appointment from President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had been reflected in political circles.

According to the report in Karar; while all these developments are taking place, it has been learned that President Erdoğan will go to Diyarbakır. It was stated that Erdoğan will attend his party's provincial congresses in Diyarbakır on January 11 and in Urfa on January 12.

If the visit takes place, President Erdoğan will have visited Diyarbakır for the first time since the start of the new resolution process discussions.
