Following reports regarding high haircut fees in Alaçatı, İzmir Chamber of Barbers President Şükrü Bilgin stated, "It is impossible to know what happened at the salon in Alaçatı, but we do not have a 2,000 lira haircut and shave. Our first-class tariff used in İzmir is 1,000 lira."
İzmir Chamber of Barbers President Şükrü Bilgin made a statement regarding the claim that a haircut and shave were performed for 2,000 lira in the touristy Alaçatı neighborhood of İzmir's Çeşme district.
Bilgin said, "It is impossible to know what happened at the salon in Alaçatı, but we do not have a 2,000 lira haircut and shave. Our tradesmen who demand such high prices from citizens must surely have a justification. Our first-class tariff used in İzmir is 1,000 lira."
Stating that reports regarding high haircut fees in Alaçatı have been reflected in the public eye, Bilgin said that the luxury tariff applied in some tourism regions is not applied in İzmir.
Noting that there are different tariffs in the city, Bilgin used the following expressions: "There are class-based tariffs. In our tariff, the most luxurious haircut and shave is 1,000 lira. Therefore, our first-class tariff currently used in İzmir reaches 1,000 lira. Our second-class tariff is 500 lira and our third-class tariff is 350 lira. Prices are divided according to regions and neighborhoods."
